Once upon a time, there was a little girl who was waiting for the right time to do the things she wanted to do. One day, the little girl realized that she was soon approaching her 40th birthday and the ”right time” never came.
She now stands at a pivotal moment in her life, where she must shed the chains of her roles as a daughter, mother and wife, and confront her worst enemy, her deep-rooted sense of insecurity, fear and doubt, the awful trio.
They always come together, don't they?
The “little girl” was determined to change her reality. She gave her all to be still and reflect inwardly to determine what exactly she was insecure, fearful and doubtful about.
She had moments of clarity that soon blurred with the opacity of reluctance, bouts of courage that, in seconds, withered into valleys of despair.
What was this fear she could not point out?
What was this doubt that shrouded her life?
The “little girl” did have something she was secretly good at. She could write. And the thing she loved writing more than anything was poetry.
Over the years, she had written many poems that were very personal and gave glimpses into her world. So as her first step to conquering her insecurity, she decided to post her poetry for people to read.
She now knows that life was about taking leaps of faith, and this was her first.
